Flag Update & Water Treatment Effective Sept 1/22

Hi Summerside,

A lake water treatment is scheduled for tomorrow morning, Thursday September 1, 2022 at 9:00am to treat the blue-green algae reported in the lake. The water treatment will be done under the guidance of our contracted professional biologists at Aquality Environmental.

Out of an abundance of caution, the SSRA will be temporarily prohibiting access to the water following the treatment.

Due to the water treatment, we are changing our flags to RED 🚩 for the treatment

As indicated in the information about our flag system, which can be found on our website, red flags mean the following: Known increased risk of using the lake. Lake access is PROHIBITED for ALL USERS.

We are anticipating being able to open access to the water again on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 12noon. Please check our website for confirmation that the water is open before entering again in case of any unexpected delays. Do not enter the water until it is announced as open.
