Community Notice: Park Security Enhancements and Registration Process
Dear Summerside Residents,
As we work towards maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all, we kindly ask for your assistance in reporting any signs of vandalism or destruction of property within our parks and walkway to 780-497-7558. Your vigilance plays a crucial role in preserving the beauty and security of our community spaces.
Additionally, if you ever come across issues such as full trash bins, damaged light posts, or other maintenance concerns, we encourage you to refer to the Maintenance Maps and guidelines available on our website. These maps will help you determine whether the issue falls under our responsibility or the city’s. You can view the maps by visiting www.lakesummerside.ca/about-us/maps-and-guidelines.
In response to residents’ concerns about ensuring only those who live here and their guests are accessing the park, we are taking steps to tighten security. As part of this effort, we will be purging our system, retaining only the information of titleholders. This means that all other users will need to re-register to ensure individuals who no longer reside in Summerside do not have access. We believe this measure will help us better control who enters our park, contributing to a safer environment for everyone. Please watch for further updates in the coming weeks regarding guidance on this process.
Additionally, we encourage all residents to stay informed by visiting our website at www.lakesummerside.ca and subscribing to our e-newsletter through our homepage. We have gone fully digital, and this is the best way to receive timely updates, event notices, and important information related to park access and community initiatives.
We are committed to fostering a safe, united, and enjoyable park experience for all. By working together and staying engaged, we can ensure that our community remains a secure and vibrant place for our families and neighbours.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
